9.1.  Introduction

localization-config is a package aimed to pre-configure language/country-related settings in various Debian packages, depending on the locale settings of the installed system.

When used while running Debian Installer to install a new system, localization-config is called after the base system install and before installing packages.

Various parameters are set by this package for each language/country combination. As the package maintainer cannot set these parameters by him/herself, translators can help him/her to fine tune them.
